  • Why Retain Sash Windows?

Replacing sash windows is incredibly expensive, and original windows contribute significantly to the historic character of a building. Original timber windows were made of very high-quality wood seldom found nowadays and it would therefore be a waste to replace them unnecessarily. Also, the production of new plastic windows consumes a great deal of energy and they often end up as landfill after a useful life of only 20 years or so.

 

  • Can i just have one window refurbished/repaired ?

Yes of course, this is a very good way of getting a measure of exactly what we do. Some of our customers have just one window done at a time to coincide with their decorating schedule.

 

  • Do i need to be home when your working in my property?

No, you do not need to be at home while we work in your property. We often work in properties while the customer is on holiday or at work. 

 

  • Is it messy?

Whilst the work we do will create some dust, we use professional filtered extraction equipment and cover furnishings. We are often complimented on how clean and tidy we are.

 

  • Can you just replace the cords ?

Yes, we do offer just a re-cord service.

 

  • Do you paint as well ? 

No, we do not paint our work after we have finished as things like putty generally need a couple of weeks to harden before paint. However, we are happy to pass on details of painters that we work closely with.
